As the new owners of the old Taylor bridge grocery re-named White River Outfitter. WRO is a dream of transforming a small old party store at Taylor Bridge into a guardian of the White river fisheries. WRO is located at the corner of 194th Ave and E. Garfield Rd. near Hesperia, Michigan, USA. The closest landmark would be the new Taylor Bridge Public Park located at Taylor Bridge, which has been in place for 59 years. The White River Outfitter was formed after hundreds of trips to steelhead, salmon and trout fish the White River over the last twelve years. Being an avid fly fisherman and canoeist, I began casually discussing the prime location near the river with fellow fly-fishing and canoe enthusiasts. We discussed the need of a river type fishing/canoe shop and the potential of turning the convenience store into a “one stop shop” for riverside and camp side supplies. The small store could evolve into a destination point to get flies, fishing tackle, canoe, kayak, tubes, and food/beverage for a day or stay on the water. We can provide river maps with fly-fishing expertise geared to fishing and canoeing on one of West Michigan’s premier rivers. Our mission is to bring an old fashioned West coast river fly/canoe shop atmosphere to the banks of the White River.
